2000 notes continuously decreasing in circulation

The share of big notes in the total number of notes decreased
Along with this, the share of 2000 note in the total note is also decreasing. Only 1.6 percent of the total number of notes in circulation is of 2000 rupees banknotes. At the same time, this share was 2 percent in the financial year 2020-21 and 2.4 percent in the previous financial year. That is, the share of 2000 note in the total note is continuously decreasing. 500 and 2000 rupee notes account for more than 87 percent of the value of all notes in circulation. There has been an increase in this compared to 2020-21 when this share was 85.7 percent. In the financial year 2020-21, there was an increase of 9.9 percent in the value of the note and 5 percent in the volume. However, in 2020-21, there was an increase of 16.8 percent in the value of all banknotes and 7.2 percent in volume.
