Many rules including LPG, railway tickets have been changed by the government. These rules are being implemented today i.e. from 1 July 2025. Let us tell you about those important rules which will change from today and which will directly affect your pocket.

Rail journey will be expensive from July 1

From July 1, there will be a slight increase in the fares of the train. Mail or express trains will increase by 1 paise per kilometer for non-AC class and 2 paise for AC class. The good news is that the second class fare will remain unchanged for traveling up to 500 km. However, for traveling more than 500 kilometers, half a paisa per kilometer may have to be paid.

Reservation chart will now be ready 8 hours ago

Till now the reservation chart of the railway was ready 4 hours before the train left. This caused a lot of trouble to passengers with the weightlist, especially the passengers from far-flung or suburban areas, who did not have time to make alternative arrangements. Now the Railways has decided to improve it. From July 1, the reservation chart will be ready 8 hours before the train leaves. If your train is leaving before 2 pm, then its chart will be finalized by 9 pm last night. This will reveal the ticket status first and passengers will be able to make alternative plans. This is a big relief for passengers in rural areas.

Credit card bill payment new rules

From July 1, some rules of government and private banks will change. The Reserve Bank of India is implementing new credit card rules. Now all credit card payment will have to be made through India Bill Payment System (BBPS). This rule will affect Fintech platforms like PhonePe, Crede, Bildesk and Infibeim Avenue. So far only eight banks have activated the bill payment on BBPS. HDFC Bank has made changes in new fees and reward policy for credit card holders. Now, if the monthly expenditure exceeds Rs 10,000, there will be an additional fee of 1 percent.

New prices of LPG cylinder

New rates of LPG cylinders will be released on 1 July. On June 1, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was cut by Rs 25. At the same time, the price of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder has been unchanged since 1 August 2024.

Rules related to utility bill

Banks will now also levy fees on utility bills (electricity, water, gas etc.). Under the new rules, a utility bill of more than Rs 50,000, online gaming of more than Rs 10,000, fuel expenses of more than Rs 15,000 and third-party payment related to education or rent will be charged. Reward points will not be available on online skill-based gaming and the limit of reward points will be applicable on insurance payment.

Aadhaar mandatory for making new PAN card

Aadhaar card will be mandatory for making a new PAN card from 1 July 2025. Earlier, any recognized identity card and birth certificate used to work, but the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has made Aadhaar verification mandatory.

Rules related to GST return

The GST Network (GSTN) has announced that the GSTR-3B form will not be edited from July 2025. Also, no taxpayer will be able to file a GST return of the previous date after three years. This rule will apply to GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-4, GSTR-5, GSTR-5A, GSTR-6, GSTR-7, GSTR-8 and GSTR-9. Its purpose is to promote the habit of filing returns on time.

New rule of UPI Chargeback

So far, banks had to get permission of National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) to re -process the rejected chargeback claim. According to the new rule announced on 20 June 2025, banks will now be able to re -process the correct chargeback claim without the approval of NPCI.

Old diesel vehicles will not get fuel

From 1 July 2025, Delhi's petrol pumps will not sell fuel to diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years. This rule has been implemented by the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM).
