A Gizmochina report claims that BYD is set to unveil the Yuan Plus electric car at the Guangzhou Auto Show tomorrow. As we mentioned, BYD’s e-platform is built on 3.0. This platform is designed for Intelligent, Security and Efficiency. The electric car is expected to be made available in the first quarter of next year and as per reports, the car could be priced between 130,000 yuan (approximately Rs 15.12 lakh) to 160,000 yuan (approximately Rs 18.61 lakh).
Talking about the specifications, the peak parameters offered by the platform include 0-60 mph (0-97 kph) in 2.9 seconds and a range of 600 miles (966 km). Not only this, the car built on this platform can support the charging capacity of up to 800V. At present, the company has not disclosed the specifications of BYD Yuan Plus, but the report claims that this electric car will be launched in China in two variants, out of which the base variant will give 430 km and the second variant will give 510 km range. Both the variants will have a single motor, which will deliver a maximum power of 150 kW and a peak torque of 310 km.
BYD doesn’t want to limit its electric cars to the domestic market. Earlier this year, the company announced that Nexport would be selling the BYD Yuan Plus in Australia from October this year. However, the plan was put on hold due to production and shipping problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic.<!–
