For select variants of Mahindra XUV700, the waiting period of SUVs has gone up to twenty months. This is currently the highest for any passenger car in the Indian market.
In India, the popularity of SUVs has seen a steady rise over the years. However, due to the shortage of semiconductors, there are many problems in car production and delivery. Car manufacturers are not able to fulfill orders quickly. As such, some SUVs currently demand a very long wait till delivery. For Kia Sonnet, the waiting time period till delivery ranges from three months to six months. The next model in the list is the Hyundai Creta, for which the waiting time period increases to six months, which is the longest time period for the base trim of the SUV.
With this, the list includes Tata Nexon whose waiting period goes up to four months for both the ICE version (petrol and diesel) and the EV version. Along with this, the Tata Punch also has a waiting time period of up to four months, with the base trim demanding the longest waiting period.
For the Nissan Magnite, new buyers will have to wait for four months to take delivery. The Toyota Fortuner also has a similar waiting time period of up to four months. For the Kia Seltos, the official waiting time period is slightly shorter, currently up to three months depending on the version chosen.
