Honda Cars India achieved a cumulative household tally of 11,177 units in the month of August 2021 as against 7,509 units sold during the same period in 2020. That is, a massive 49 percent YoY volume growth was registered. The Japanese manufacturer has registered a sales growth of 85 percent MoM as well as 6,055 units were registered in the last month of July 2021.

The company posted the seventh highest tally among manufacturers as it was ahead of Renault, MG, Skoda, Nissan Volkswagen, Ford, FCA and Citroen. Honda managed to capture 4.3 per cent market share in August 2021, up from 3.2 per cent with a growth of 1.1 per cent during the same period twelve months ago. The sub-four-meter sedan Amaze registered sales of 6,591 units as compared to 3,684 units sold during the same period last year, registering a year-on-year growth of 79 per cent. The facelift gets exterior updates to give a fresh vibe and extend the lifecycle of the second generation model. The latest edition of the Honda City was launched last year and despite being costlier than the previous model, it has received good response among the customers. The midsize sedan has helped revive the sales of its segment but not by a huge margin.

Honda City registered sales of 3,284 units in the month of August 2021 with a jump of 43 percent as against 2,299 units in August 2020. The WR-V registered an overall sales of 672 units as against a negative growth of 8 per cent against 729 units during the same period twelve months ago. Honda Jazz premium hatchback registered sales of 630 units as against 583 units in August 2020, showing a growth of 8 per cent in volumes.

With 1,134 units as compared to the previous month of July 2021, Honda Amaze compact sedan registered 481 per cent positive sales growth on MoM basis and may continue to grow in the coming months as well as sales during the festive season. expected to grow.
