Amritsar Red Alert: Police Commissioner Arun Pal Singh has said that after the Mohali attack, a red alert has been issued in Amritsar.

Director General of Police (DGP) VK Bhavra told reporters after a meeting with senior officials that an explosive had hit the headquarters building of the police intelligence unit and appeared to have used TNT (trinitrotoluene). The DGP said, when the incident happened, there was no one in that room of the building. The impact of the blast was on the wall. “In view of yesterday’s incident, we held a meeting here in which intelligence officers and district police chief were also present,” he said.
The attack is being seen as a major intelligence failure.
When asked whether it was a terrorist attack, the DGP said that whatever comes out in the investigation will be shared with the media. It is known that this headquarters complex of the intelligence unit located in Sector 77 of Mohali was attacked with a rocket propelled grenade on Monday night, due to which the window panes of one floor of the building were shattered. The blast happened around 7.45 pm. However, there were no casualties in this. The security system of the city has been tightened since this attack.
