Public broke on this company's diesel car
Mahindra has been holding a strong hold in the hearts of Indian customers for many years. A glimpse of this is clearly visible in the cells of every month. In the SUV segment, the company has established itself as a leader. Interestingly, while other automobile companies are slowly shutting down diesel variants, Mahindra has not only maintained her diesel models, but is also making new records of sales due to them.
Diesel won
Mahindra's SUV sales reached 5,51,487 units in FY 2025, which shows an increase of about 20% in FY24's 4,59,877 units. Of these, 4,25,329 units were of diesel engines vehicles (including 166 units of Marazo MPV), while the sales of petrol variants were 1,13,268 units. In the electric segment, the company delivered 12,890 units.
The biggest contribution to Mahindra's petrol cell was XUV 3xo, which sold 69,496 units – this is the only Mahindra SUV in which petrol demanded more than diesel. After this, 22,910 of XUV700 and 11,447 petrol units of Scorpio N were sold. Petrol sales of Thar and Thar Rocks were 3,235 and 6,180 units respectively.
More than 1.5 lakh diesel Scorpio SUV sold
If we talk about the diesel segment, then FY2025 sold more than 1.5 lakh diesel Scorpio SUVs, which was one of the company's best -selling diesel models. The stake of petrol variants in this was less than 7%. At the same time, models like Bolero (including Neo) and Marazzo are available with only 1.5-liter diesel engine.
In addition, 93% of the total sales of Thar came from the diesel version, while the Diesel stake in the 5-door variant of Thar Rocks was around 84%. These figures clearly show that Mahindra is still hitting the diesel segment and its hold among the customers is very strong.
