Police Naxalite encounter in Jharkhand
Jharkhand Jaguar’s Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar was martyred in an encounter between Naxalites and Jharkhand Jaguar in Latehar district of Jharkhand. While one Naxalite has been killed. It is being told that around three o’clock in the afternoon, Jharkhand Jaguar jawans and local police team had gone to conduct a search operation in Jagda Pahad of Narayanpur-Salaiya village of Sadar police station area. During this, the Naxalites who were already sitting on the ghat attacked the soldiers.
The attack took place during the search operation
The incident took place when Jharkhand Jaguar and local police were on their way towards Jagda hill via Nawagarh village while conducting a search operation. Meanwhile, the militants of JJMP, who were already on the mountain, started firing on seeing the security forces. The soldiers of the security forces also took the front in retaliation. During this, there was intermittent firing from both the sides which lasted for about half an hour. In this firing, Jaguar’s Assistant Commandant Rajesh Kumar became a victim of bullets from the militants. He was shot in the thigh and right chest.

After the shooting of the assistant commandate, the security forces informed the senior police officials from the encounter site in a hurry. On receiving the information, SDPO Santosh Kumar Mishra along with additional police force reached the spot and took the injured Mr. Kumar to the helipad site in Rajhar. After this, the Assistant Commandant was brought from Latehar to Ranchi in an injured condition. Where he was martyred during treatment in Medica Hospital.
What did the chief minister say on militancy
Let us inform that earlier in the meeting held in Delhi regarding militancy, Chief Minister Hemant Soren had said that in the year 2016 there were 195 militant incidents in Jharkhand. This number has come down to 125 in the year 2020. In the year 2016, 61 civilians were killed by the militants, in the year 2020 this number was 28. A total of 715 militant arrests were made during this period. In the said period, 18 militants were killed in police encounters.
Naxalites are shrinking
The Chief Minister said that effective action is being taken against the militant organizations in Jharkhand. As a result of these operations, the presence of militants in the state has been mainly limited to Parasnath Pahar, Budha Pahar, Seraikela, Khunti, Chaibasa, Kolhan area and some areas of Bihar border. The day is not far when Left Wing Extremism can be wiped out from these places too.
