The Volkswagen Tigun is a compact SUV
Volkswagen has decided to expand its subscription-based ownership scheme by adding the newly launched Taigun SUV as part of its fleet. Volkswagen launched the Taigun SUV last month at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and other vehicles in the compact SUV segment.
Prices for the GT line model of Taigun SUV start at Rs.14.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and go up to Rs.17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Volkswagen also offers full on-road financing, periodic maintenance, insurance cover and the option to upgrade or return the car at the convenience of the customers.
Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “With the objective of being accessible to the customers, we at Volkswagen have worked towards our omni-channel mobility offering. It aims to give customers the option of their preferred ownership model that suits their lifestyle and comfort.”

The Taigun will be offered with a white number plate and will be available across 30 Volkswagen outlets in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
Engine and Transmission Options of Volkswagen Tigun
The Taigun comes with two TSI petrol engine options. These are the 1.0-litre unit and the 1.5-litre motor. The former is mated to a manual gearbox as well as a 6-speed automatic unit. The more powerful engine gets a manual as well as a DSG automatic unit.
Volkswagen Tigun has been made available in 6 different color options. These are yellow, white, blue, red, gray and black. The Tigun comes with Smart Chrome Edition on its exterior body and while the horizontal lines on the front grille are quite familiar, the face gets a youth appeal thanks to the LED head lights and DRL units. The car comes on 17- and 16-inch alloy wheels, depending on the variant and also gets a funky LED tail light design. The Tigun also boasts of the longest wheelbase in the segment.
How is the interior of the Taigun
The Tigun gets a 10.1-inch VW Play touchscreen infotainment system and an all-digital eight-inch digital cockpit which is the largest in the segment. There is support for wireless app connect via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while there are 6 speakers around the vehicle. Other feature highlights include a sunroof, wireless mobile charging and voice-command recognition. The cabin is mostly well built and offers a decent level of seat cushioning and space. The red colored ambient lighting scheme adds to the premium touch.
