Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched a new 4X4 variant of its flagship Fortuner Legend SUV in India. The Legend was first launched in January this year with the 4X2 diesel variant along with the facelift variant of the Fortuner SUV. The 4X4 variant of the Fortuner Legend has been priced at Rs 42.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Fortuner Legend 4X4 promises to satisfy both those with an interest in performance and adventure seekers. It comes with specially designed headlamps, split quad LED with waterfall LED line guide signature and many more. Exterior features of the SUV include catamaran style front and rear bumpers, sharp and smooth front grille with piano black accents, sequential turn indicators and 18-inch machine cut finish alloys.
The interiors of the Fortuner Legend 4X4 include dual tone themes in black and maroon, contrast stitching for the steering wheel and console box, ambient lighting and USB ports for the rear passengers. Apart from these, the Fortuner Legender 4X4 also gets features like kick sensor for power back door and wireless smartphone charger.
Under the hood, the Fortuner Legend 4X4 will come with a 2.8-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is capable of generating 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of peak torque.
Toyota has discontinued the sale of Yaris in India
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has recently decided to discontinue the sale of its mid-size sedan Yaris in India with immediate effect as part of its product strategy to meet the changing needs of the customers. The company launched Yaris in the Indian market in May 2018. Its price was kept from Rs 8.75 lakh to Rs 14.07 lakh (ex-showroom). This sedan was introduced in the segments of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
However, with wholesale sales of around 19,800 units, it did not get much response in the market. “Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced the discontinuation of Yaris in India with effect from September 27, 2021,” the company said in a statement. This move is a part of Toyota’s product strategy to meet the ever-changing needs of customers through latest technology and product offerings.
