There are many vehicles that belong to the same segment. Engine and power have also been given almost the same in these, but still there is a difference in their performance on the ground. Today we are going to talk about two such vehicles, whose engine and power delivery are the same, but one of the two is so fast that the other does not seem to deviate before it after drag race.
These two vehicles are the hottest pick of the mid SUV variants, Kia Seltos and MG Hector. In a video of Autocar India, a drag race has been conducted between these two vehicles. After which it has been revealed that which of the two vehicles is faster and who has completed the race in how much time.
Let’s talk about the engine of Seltos and Hector first, here you get petrol DCT turbocharged engine in both the vehicles. The Seltos is offered with 1.4 petrol dct and the Hector 1.5 petrol dct. Which generates 140hp power and 242Nm torque and 143hp power and 250Nm torque respectively. In terms of power, the Hector looks a bit ahead but can it get ahead in the race. Let’s know…
As soon as the race starts, the Seltos goes out like a bullet, while the driver seated in the Hector is seen yawning at the pickup launch of the car. The much better DCT of the Seltos gives it such a better launch that it becomes impossible for the Hector to touch the Seltos. Where Seltos completes the race in just 17.599 seconds. On the other hand, Hector takes 18.747 seconds to reach the end. After watching this race, it becomes clear that the Seltos may produce three horsepower less than the Hector. But it is far ahead in terms of pick up and speed.
