Honda’s latest debuted SUV has been launched in the Chinese market as Honda ZRV Compact SUV.
To meet the global demand for SUVs, automakers are focusing more on this segment. Honda (Honda) is one of them. In recent months, Honda has launched several new SUVs across the world except in India. The company is planning to launch a new SUV in India by next year as well. Honda’s latest SUV debuted in the Chinese market Honda ZRV Compact SUV (Honda ZRV Compact SUV) has been launched under the name of It has been launched as a compact SUV, which Hyundai Creta will compete with. In China, the Creta is sold as the ix25. Interestingly, last year it was reported that Honda’s compact SUV for India would be named ZRV.
The Chinese Honda ZR-V is similar to the US-spec HRV, which was unveiled a few weeks back. It includes the same large octagonal front grille, sleek LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs. The 2023 Honda ZRV has been designed with sleek, horizontal LED tail-lights.
New Honda ZRV Compact SUV
It gets a dual exhaust setup, which was not seen on the US-spec HRV. The interiors of the ZRV have not been revealed. But it is likely to be similar to HRV. It will get a large touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, steering mounted controls, ventilated seats, electric sunroof, leather seats, rear AC vents etc.
Specifications of Honda ZRV
However, the official engine specs of the car have not been disclosed. Honda ZRV for China revealed, tailgate gets ‘240 Turbo’ badging. The same badge is also used on the Integra, which is sold from GAC Honda in China. The Honda Integra is a liftback coupe that comes equipped with a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that is mated to a CVT. This engine generates 180 bhp power and 240 Nm torque. This advanced VTEC turbo unit is likely to power the new Honda ZRV SUV – making it one of the most powerful compact SUVs in the Chinese market.
The official launch of Honda ZRV will happen by the end of this year. Apart from GAC, Honda also has a partnership with Dongfeng in China. Honda Compact SUV for India Except for the pseudo crossover based on the Jazz hatchback, Honda does not have any SUV to offer in India. Considering the huge growth in sales in the SUV segment in the last few years, Honda was planning to launch the HRV in India to compete with the Creta and Seltos. However, due to the price range, this did not happen as HRV is very premium. It is reported that Honda is now working on an India-specific compact SUV. It is expected to be launched next year, which could be offered with petrol ICE and hybrid options.
