Defense Research and Development Organization has prepared two warning systems

Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has achieved another major success in the field of defense manufacturing. DRDO has developed Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) and Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) which will be given to the Indian Air Force.

Under the AtmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, DRDO said in a tweet on Thursday that the Defense Research and Development Organization has prepared Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) and Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS), Which will be purchased by Airbus, Spain from BEL for the C295 program and then delivered to the Indian Air Force. Kudos to the efforts of Team DLRL for this wonderful work.

UVMAWS Passive Missile Warning System: DRDO

It was informed by the Defense Research and Development Organization that Ultra Violet Based Missile Approach Warning System (UVMAWS) is a passive missile warning system whose function is to detect impending missile attacks and warns the pilots to initiate retaliation.

Also Ultra Violet Missile Approach Warning System is a small size high performance system with low power consumption and low weight, suitable for helicopters and transport aircraft.

RWR capable of blocking radio emissions

Not only this, the state-of-the-art RWR system is capable of stopping the radio emission of the radar system from time to time by scanning the frequency band.

Earlier this month, on November 3, the Defense Research and Development Organization and the Indian Air Force jointly conducted two successful tests of an indigenously developed smart ‘anti-airfield’ weapon at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.
Information about this test was given by the Ministry of Defense. The ministry said in its statement that two different versions (of the weapon) based on satellite navigation and ‘electro-optical sensor’ were successfully tested. It also mentioned that for the first time in the country the ‘electro-optical’ based test of this class of bomb has been done.

The ‘electro-optic sensor’ has been prepared in the country itself. The Defense Ministry said that it was launched from Chandan Range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan on 28 October and 3 November from an Indian Air Force aircraft. According to the ministry, the target was hit with high accuracy in both these tests. The system (weapon) is designed for a maximum range of 100 kms.
