Recently Tata Motors has launched its Safari Gold Edition. The car is loaded with ventilated seats, wireless charging and many other features. Tata Motors has started assessing the emotions of Indian customers. Tata Motors can launch one of its cars in the 4×4 off-road vehicle segment. In such a situation, today we will talk about a car from Tata Motors that can compete with Mahindra Thar.

The car that we expect to take on the Mahindra Thar is the Tata Sierra. The legendary Sierra was a three-door SUV mated to a manual transmission and a 2-litre diesel engine with 4×4 capabilities. The car was launched in early 1995 and the car continued to rule the hearts of people till 2005. The car remains iconic and still manages to grab attention whenever seen on the road.

In such a situation, it is expected that a new generation of Tata Sierra will be introduced in the market. This Kryotec 2.0-litre turbocharged engine car is similar to what we have seen on the Tata Harrier and Safari. The engine is expected to produce 167bhp and 350Nm of torque. The car we expect will be more powerful than the Mahindra Thar with its mHawk 130 engine that produces 130bhp and 300Nm of torque.

The Sierra is expected to retain the wrap-up second-row window, three-door and five-seater design that was originally done in the 90s. The seating will be similar to that of the Thar in which you shift the seat in the front row and enter the second row. Though it sounds a bit rough, but for a Sierra fan, at the end of the day, the look and engine of the car matters.

At the 2020 Auto Expo, Tata Motors showed us a glimpse of the Tata Sierra which was an EV. In such a situation, it can be offered in the electric version. As an electric vehicle, the Tata Sierra might look great. Tata Motors already has successful electric vehicles like the Nexon EV and Tigor EV running across the country. If the Tata Sierra gets the same Ziptron technology then it could be the next big thing in the market. Cars from Tata Motors are already known for their safety, this includes Ziptron technology and benefits of electric vehicles.
