While the Honda Activa 6G will come in two new variants, the Dio scooter will get four new variants. The launch of the new Honda Activa, Dio has been revealed from the type approval documents filed with the Delhi RTO.
New variants of Activa and Dio scooters to come
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is gearing up to introduce new special variants of Activa, Dio scooters in the market before the festive season 2021. The new information has emerged from the approval documents filed with the Delhi RTO. While the Honda Activa 6G will come in two new variants, the Dio scooter will get four new variants.
The same 109.51cc, single-cylinder engine will be given in both the models. This powertrain will generate 7.68hp at 8,000rpm and 8.79Nm at 5,250rpm in the Activa 6G, while the Dio engine will generate 7.65hp at 8,000rpm and 9Nm of torque at 4,750rpm.
According to the type approval document, the Activa 6G and Activa 6G will come in LED variants. As the name suggests, one of the trims may get an all-LED setup. Also, the company may also introduce new bits including alloy wheels as compared to the current Activa 6G, which only gets steel wheels.
The new Dio will come in four variants. The new documents reveal that the variants of the scooter will include – composite cast wheel, a digital speedometer, composite cast wheel and 3D emblem, and digital speedometer and 3D emblem along with the Dio. Currently, the Repsol Honda Edition of the scooter is the only variant in which alloy wheels have been given. New variants of both the Honda scooters are expected to be launched in the next few weeks just before the festive season 2021. More details will be made available closer to the launch of the scooter.
The company’s presence in the electric scooter segment also
The demand for electric scooters is increasing very fast, which is why automakers are rapidly launching electric vehicles. In this episode, the legendary vehicle manufacturer Honda has launched its electric scooter Honda U-Go a few days ago. This is Honda’s most affordable electric scooter, which costs 7499 yuan (about Rs 86,000). This scooter has been launched by Yuang Honda, the Chinese subsidiary of Honda.
The company has launched the Honda U-Go electric scooter in two versions and its top-spec version is powered by a 1.2kW motor and has a maximum output of 1.8kW. The company says that its top speed is 53 kmph. Whereas the standard U-Go electric scooter comes with a 0.8kW motor and has a top speed of 45 kmph. In this you get a range of 121 km.
