Force Motors has launched the 201 Gurkha (2021 Gurkha) off-road adventure lifestyle SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 13.59 lakh. Its booking has been opened with a token amount of Rs 25,000. The 2021 Force Gurkha will compete with the likes of Mahindra Thar in the niche segment. Compared to 2021 Force Gurkha, the base AX four-seater convertible petrol manual variant of Mahindra Thar costs Rs 12.78 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-spec LX four-seater hard-top diesel automatic variant costs Rs 15.08 lakh. Ex-showroom).
The Force Gurkha SUV, which is now in its second generation, has received a massive facelift as compared to its previous model. The new Gurkha has now become a more adventurous lifestyle vehicle with a plethora of creature comforts and latest features. The new generation Force Gurkha SUV gets an upgraded BS6 compliant 2.6-litre diesel engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. However, Force Motor will not offer any variant with an automatic transmission as of now.
The carmaker believes that ‘people who want to enjoy driving, prefer manual transmission’. The 2021 Gurkha will be offered with AWD option. Force has also changed the suspension setup with double wishbones and coil springs.
Gurkha SUV comes with a bold look
As far as the looks are concerned, Force Motor has upgraded the styling of the 2021 Gurkha with several changes on the outside and on the inside. The SUV now supports a bolder look with a new front grille. It is equipped with circular bi-LED headlamps and LED DRLs that sit above the new set of fog lamps. It has 16 inch alloy wheels. It also gets a snorkel which helps the Gurkha with a water-wading capacity of 700 mm. At the rear, the Gurkha gets a new set of taillights as well as a ladder to access the roof-mounted luggage carrier.
New Gurkha Interior
It will get the best cabin which gets an all-black interior. There are specially designed floor mats for the exterior capacity of the SUV. Apart from these, the Gurkha also gets a seven-inch infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver display is now semi-digital and sits behind a new three-spoke steering wheel. Whereas a large panoramic window is available for the rear seat passengers.
